Throwback 2

Hey! I’m back for my second throwback. I had a lot of fun the past few weeks here in Amsterdam. The weather is also getting better and better so I can’t complain!

Two weeks ago, Zoë, Merel and I went to the ADAM Lookout tower to get a nice overview of the city. We also got the chance to take a funny picture with a green screen behind us as you can see. After that, I had to go to the hairdresser. I had a lot of stress because it was the first time in many years someone else cut my hair. It went smoothly and I am very satisfied (mainly because my mom said my hair is pretty).

Anyway, after the hairdresser I went back to Merel and Zoë, who were drinking some beers in ‘Brouwerij t’IJ’. These brewed beers from Amsterdam were actually good, much better than Heineken of course.

The next day, Jill joined Merel, Zoë and I and we went to the North part of Amsterdam to visit ‘NDSM’. We first visited a big antique shop and ate some apple pie before we actually arrived at NDSM. The NDSM-wharf used to be one of the biggest shipyards in the world. Now it is a place for very creative and alternative people to make things. Normally, this is not my style, but I can really appreciate it over there and some things they made really look cool. After some cafes, we decided to cook together at my place again and to watch ‘De Mol’.

The next week, I had the opportunity to visit a factory plant of my internship company, namely Cargill Multiseeds in the port of Amsterdam. After a 17km bike tour headwind, I arrived. It was very interesting to see all the processes in real life. I also had the chance to go on board of an inland waterway vessel and to talk to the shipper.

On Saturday, March 30, I had a visit from five of my best friends. I was so happy to see them again, it felt like I hadn’t seen them in years but actually it was only 4 weeks ago.

We did many things in Amsterdam together such as the prostitution museum, NDSM, pub crawls and a bike tour. At night, we drank a lot of ‘Hertog Jan’ beers and we ate some croquettes from the

wall.

The next Saturday, April 6, was planned for another visit. This time, my parents and brother came! It was also very nice to see them again. We did a tour in the city went to the biggest flee market of Europe, called ‘the IJhallen’. They only stayed for 7 hours so the day was fast over.

The last thing I did here in Amsterdam, was a picnic last Sunday with Jill, Merel and Zoë in the ‘Vondelpark’. We met with some international students from Germany and the US. As tradition, we cooked together that evening and watched the Mol again.

Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed. Stay tuned for more… Byeeeeeeeee!
